Women’s Soccer played Pine Manor College this past Saturday, October 10th. Freshman Meghan Zerba scored a hat-trick to propel the Saints towards their second consecutive shut-out. Zerba began the scoring streak of the game, assisted by freshman Elizabeth Blasser, about 20 minutes into the first half. Within 5 minutes of the first goal, Kate McKenna scored the second of the game, assisted by Meghan Long. Stephanie Levesque scored the third and final goal of the first half, assisted by Amber Di Nucci, bringing the Saints to a 3-0 lead at half-time. The second half of the game was just as exciting. Melanie Hoffman scored a goal about 5 minutes into the half, assisted by both Amber Di Nucci and Kate McKenna. About 20 minutes into the second half Amber Di Nucci cut through Pine Manor’s defense to score unassisted. Meghan Zerba rounded out her hat-trick with consecutive goals about 2 minutes apart, assisted by Amber Di Nucci and a corner kick from Meghan Long. This brought the Saints to a final winning score of 7-0 in this conference game, which brings their record to 8-5-1. The Women’s Soccer Team’s next game is Wednesday October 14th, at 7pm on Clemente Field against Fitchburg State College. Come support the team and you may even see one of Amber Di Nucci’s front-flip throw-ins.
