Touring musician Reed Waddle has had an exciting year, opening for bands such as the All-American Rejects and sharing the stage with John Oates. On Thursday, October 15, Waddle had his first ever press conference–in Emmanuel’s administration building, lead by Professor John Stark and his Feature Writing class.

The Florida native moved to Boston about six weeks ago and since has been touring New England and performing regularly at local bars and clubs in the area. Waddle has released four albums in the last six years and has been the recipient of several awards including the 2009 Mountain Stage NewSong contest.

He spoke to the class about his passion for music and plans to pursue a career in music for as long as he can. If it doesn’t work out, Waddle does have a degree to fall back on–in journalism. However, he is not sure that he will ever return to the world of reporting, as he prefers to be on the musicians end of the press conference.
