Thomas Menino has been elected to a historic 5th term as the Mayor of Boston.  City Councilman Michael Flaherty called to concede the race to Mayor Menino earlier this evening.

Menino faced three challengers in his most recent re-election bid, knocking out two in the primary and defeating the Flaherty-Yoon “ticket” in the general election today.

With the win, Menino becomes the city’s longest-serving mayor.
