2003_02zm0014-11 Dog Days Bogota by Alec Soth will be on display until November 28th at the Stephen D.Paine Gallery at mass art.

Alec Soth is an American photographer born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is best known for his works documenting rural American life. In his series Sleeping by the Mississippi he captures the decaying features of Midwestern life. Featuring prostitutes and chain gangs, his photos give an unsettling look into parts of America that many people have forgotten.

In Dog Days Bogota, Alec Soth shows Colombia through his lens. His photos look almost cinematic, but at the same time the viewer is wrenched back into reality with his depictions of smog drenched cityscapes and crumbling buildings. His portraits also provide a frank look at Colombian culture.

His work will be shown until November 28th, the gallery is located in the South building of Mass Art on the second floor and is open to the public.
